Keratin Lash Lift and Tint Q & A

WHAT IS A LASH LIFT?

A lash lift is an alternative to lash extensions and falsies for a curled lash effect. While some lash lifts use perm and ammonia solutions, Advanced Medical Aesthetics uses an ammonia free keratin treatment that enhances your natural lashes by lifting the hairs from the root while strengthening them. Although healthy thick lashes will show the best results, everyone is a candidate due to the keratin booster aiding in lash growth.

CAN YOU CUSTOMIZE THE SHAPE AND LIFT?

YES, the treatment has three shield size options S,M,L. Advanced Medical Aesthetics has an aesthetician trained in lash artistry and will evaluate your hair length and eye shape for the look that will best suit you.

HOW SHOULD YOU PREPARE?

Refrain from using waterproof mascara and an eyelash curler three days prior to your appointment to ensure the lashes are relaxed and dry to help insure you get a good strong lash lift.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE?

The intricate process takes about 30-45 minutes, start to finish. If you’re also getting a lash tint with your lift, it takes about an hour

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?

Following the treatment, it is advised that you refrain from getting the lashes wet for 48 hours for the best results. During that time the keratin is still active, and your lift effect is still developing on the lashes. So avoid steam, water, and oil based mascara.

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST AND WHAT IS THE UPKEEP?

A keratin lash lift can potentially last 8 to 12 weeks. Our Aesthetician says you’ll see nice results for the first six weeks. The average person sheds 4-5 lashes a day, so at five – six weeks 30 to 40 percent of those lashes will have been shed with new ones growing in their place, because the new hairs growing in are untreated, they will grow in straight. Thanks to the keratin boost in our lash lift it promotes faster healthier hair growth and preps for your next curling session.

HOW FAR APART SHOULD YOU SPACE YOUR APPOINTMENTS?

Because the process works best on healthy virgin lashes, Our lash specialists will only work on repeat clients every 8 weeks to allow the old lashes proper time to shed and new ones to be long enough to lift.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Keratin Lash lifts costs $150 for the 1st treatment and includes Jet black tinting. Other, cheaper lash lifts might use perms and ammonia on the lashes, which we warn, will cause lash breakage and truly fry healthy lashes over time, causing them to grow back thin and short. These ammonias and perm based treatments do not include the keratin protein boost and range from $50- $100 depending on the technician, location, and product used. Most of these non-keratin lifts last about 3 weeks before they lose curl and you will need another. That can cost you close to the amount of a keratin lift and has given your lashes NO Nourishing Proteins! Always do your research to ensure the formula is safe and reliable in curling and in making your lashes grow. It’s always best to invest a little more when it comes to the health of your hair.

WHAT IS KERATIN?

Keratin is in the form of a gel and is like a super boost of fibrous structural proteins. It is added after the lift to strengthen the lashes and help them grow. It is the key structural material making up hair, nails, horns, claws, hooves, and the outer layer of skin. Keratin is the protein that protects epithelial cells from damage or stress.
